MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi Enters Metaverse

After an incredible career, MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi has taken his talent into the metaverse. Partnering with Italian media holding group The Hundred, he created VR46 Metaverse to generate and develop unique content about their brand in metaverses, gaming universes and NFTs (Non-fungible tokens).

Through persistent virtual worlds, “The Doctor,” the VR46 Racing Team and Academy will be able to connect with fans around the globe. Users will also have a chance to engage with one another and compete against each other in races.

In order to capitalize on the growing metaverse market, Rossi has launched VR46 Metaverse with The Hundred, an Italian media holding group. This partnership will further solidify VR46’s presence in this rapidly transforming digital and virtual realm. Through it, Rossi will create exclusive Web3 content tailored towards his 9 times MotoGP World Champion fans and motorsport aficionados worldwide.

In 2022, VR46’s first contents will be released. They will include persistent virtual worlds within the Metaverse where riders from VR46 can connect and engage with fans. Furthermore, these games provide users with opportunities to race against each other and earn rewards.

Joint Venture with The Hundred

With The Hundred, an Italian media holding, Valentino Rossi has ventured into web3 and created VR46 Metaverse. The company will focus on designing and developing unique content related to the VR46 brand within the metaverse, gaming worlds and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

The project envisions creating a global platform dedicated to “The Doctor” and all motorsport enthusiasts within persistent virtual worlds. Here, users can interact with official riders, network with others and compete against them.

Jean Claude Ghinozzi, an executive with extensive international experience from Microsoft, Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts, will head up the VR46 Metaverse project as CEO. His goal is to create immersive and engaging content by 2022 for Valentino Rossi’s historic fans as well as a new audience created through advanced technologies.

By 2022, the first content created through this joint venture will be available on Roblox’s Moto Island. This open-world environment consists of cities, fields, snow-capped mountains, ocean-side roads and forests which will be continuously upgraded and expanded over time.

VR46 Metaverse plans on creating a virtual world for fans and also introducing several virtual racing events that will enable players to interact with official VR46 riders and even race against them. It is anticipated that the first VR experience will be released in 2022.

Established in 2014, VR46 Metaverse is led by Jean Claude Ghinozzi – an experienced IP manager whose previous employers include Microsoft, Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts. He will oversee all operations as well as the company’s monetization strategy.
